Replicate Zamfara military operations in Benue, ex-prisons comptroller urges Tinubu

A former Comptroller of Prisons, Chief Iorbee Ihagh, has urged President Bola Tinubu to replicate the successful military operations in Zamfara State in Benue State. Ihagh, who holds key positions in various socio-cultural groups in Benue, expressed his support for the government’s efforts in tackling banditry and terrorism in the country. He highlighted the long-standing security challenges faced by Benue and emphasized the urgent need for similar intervention to restore peace in the state.

Ihagh commended the military’s actions in Zamfara and called on the President to extend similar measures to address the insecurity in Benue. He emphasized the importance of security in enabling agricultural activities in Benue, known as the nation’s food basket. Ihagh highlighted the plight of communities displaced by bandit attacks in various local government areas and appealed for swift action to ensure the safety and well-being of the affected populations.

The group led by Ihagh reiterated their plea to the federal government to urgently address the security threats in Benue and other affected states to allow people to return to their homes and resume agricultural activities. They warned of the dire consequences of prolonged insecurity on the nation and stressed the critical need for prompt and effective measures to safeguard lives and property.
