Today, the Lagos State Governor will unveil the Old Ojo (Phase 1) Road in the Oriade area of the Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area. Additionally, three other roads – Irede, Navy Town, and Mumuni Adio (Buba Marwa) roads – in the same LGA will also be opened.
The inauguration of these projects is part of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to improving transportation infrastructure, thereby supporting economic activities in the state. These roads provide crucial links to the Lagos Blue Line Rail and the water transport system, with numerous jetties along the route.
The newly reconstructed 10.1km roads connect the rail on the Lagos Badagry Expressway to the Inland Waterways terminal, offering significant connections to residential and commercial areas.
One of the roads, Irede Road, is a 2.20km stretch that leads to the Irede Jetty, facilitating water transportation to riverine communities in the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area.
The rehabilitation and upgrade of these roads underscore their economic importance, with the state government’s commitment to ensuring they meet the required standards.
Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration remains dedicated to improving existing roads and constructing new ones for the benefit of Lagos residents, fulfilling the promise made to the people.
