The Lagos State Governor recently revealed new blocks of classrooms at Keme Balogun Senior and Junior Colleges in Ibeshe, Ikorodu, as part of a larger initiative to launch additional classroom blocks throughout the state. Various schools such as Awori Junior College, Euba Junior High School, Ipara Junior College, and others have seen new constructions and renovations.
The governor emphasized the importance of education in driving economic growth, reducing inequality, and empowering individuals. He highlighted that investing in schools is investing in the socioeconomic well-being of communities. The newly renovated facilities aim to provide students with the necessary resources to excel academically, socially, and physically. The projects not only improve education quality but also create job opportunities during the construction phase, benefiting the local economy.
The development of modern facilities like food canteens, Intro-tech blocks, and sports fields is set to enhance the learning environment and increase enrollment rates. The focus on technical education through the new Intro-tech block is particularly noteworthy. The Chairman of the Special Committee on Repair of Public Schools highlighted the governor’s swift response to address the poor condition of the schools.
In addition, the simultaneous inauguration of 16 new blocks of classrooms across the state underscores the governor’s dedication to providing high-quality education to the people of Lagos.
