Save Nigerians from hardship, APC chieftain begs Tinubu

A member of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State recently made an appeal to the President to take prompt action in easing the current hardships faced by Nigerians. In a statement released in Osogbo, the official highlighted the challenges many Nigerians are enduring and emphasized the need for swift implementation of strategies to provide immediate relief.

While expressing confidence in the President’s ability to alleviate the suffering of the masses, the official suggested the adoption of faster approaches, especially in light of economic challenges caused by increasing fuel prices. The emphasis was on removing bureaucratic obstacles that hinder the swift implementation of beneficial policies to address the escalating economic hardship faced by the people.

The official also raised concerns about the delay in implementing the President’s directive to suspend customs duties and taxes on imported food items, which was announced two months earlier as a measure to combat rising food inflation. Urging for the timely implementation of this initiative, the official recalled assurances given by the Comptroller-General of Customs regarding the imminent implementation of the policy once the guidelines were finalized.

The official further appealed for the seamless finalization of the guidelines without unnecessary delays, expressing optimism that the initiative, when put into effect, would help reduce food prices while not negatively impacting local production. Additionally, the official called on Nigerians to continue supporting the President, acknowledging that some policies might cause short-term discomfort but would yield significant long-term benefits.
