A tragic incident occurred on Kaltungo-Cham Road in Gombe State, resulting in the loss of seven lives and injuries to 31 individuals in a single auto crash. The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in the state, Mr. Samson Kaura, confirmed the occurrence, stating that a trailer carrying soft drinks and 38 individuals experienced a brake failure, leading to the accident. The victims included five males, one female, and a child, with the injured receiving treatment at the General Hospital Kaltungo. Kaura emphasized the dangers of boarding trailers for transportation due to cost-saving measures, urging the public to prioritize safety over expenses. He advised against using commercial trailers for travel and encouraged regular vehicle maintenance to prevent such tragic incidents.
