The founder of a football club has generously pledged N2.5m to Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team, the Flamingos, as they gear up to face South Africa in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
The Flamingos are currently training at the club’s facilities in Ikenne, Ogun State, in preparation for their important first-leg match in Pretoria, South Africa.
Impressed by the team’s performance in a recent friendly, the founder commended the players for their determination and spirit, expressing confidence in their abilities.
In a supportive gesture, he announced a financial incentive for the team’s strong showing in the friendly match and promised additional rewards for victories in upcoming games.
Encouraging the players and officials, the founder reminded them of Nigeria’s strong position in women’s football and urged them to strive for success.
