Stampedes: Anglican Primate condoles victims’ families, urges FG to tackle food insecurity

The Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, has stressed the importance of prioritizing food security in the country. At a recent press conference in Abuja, he expressed concern over the recent stampedes during the distribution of palliatives in various locations. He called for urgent attention to address poverty and hunger in Nigeria.

The Primate urged Nigerian leaders to take the country’s challenges seriously and emphasized the need for the political class to make sacrifices for the nation. He acknowledged the government’s efforts to tackle current challenges and asked Nigerians to expect positive changes in the near future.

Emphasizing the significance of food security, he highlighted the pressing issue of insecurity preventing farmers from working on their farms. He warned that without farmers producing food, scarcity would worsen, leading to competition for limited resources and exposing deeper issues within the nation.

The Primate also underlined the importance of patriotism and unity among Nigerians. He called for the National Orientation Agency to promote awareness of core values and patriotism among citizens.
