Stella Obasanjo hospital: PDP knocks Okpebholo for attacking Obaseki

The opposition party in Edo State criticized Governor Monday Okpebholo and Health Commissioner Dr. Cyril Adam Oshiomhole for alleging that the previous governor, Godwin Obaseki, did not do a satisfactory job on the Stella Obasanjo Hospital in Benin.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo inaugurated the 270-bed hospital during Obaseki’s administration.

Okpebholo and Oshiomhole inspected the hospital and found what they called “construction errors.”

The current governor visited the hospital and criticized the previous administration, stating that work was ongoing and equipment was yet to be procured.

Obaseki responded, accusing the new administration of baseless allegations and diversionary tactics.

The opposition party defended Obaseki, highlighting the positive impact of the Stella Obasanjo Hospital on the state’s healthcare system.

Obaseki’s media adviser also refuted the claims, emphasizing the former governor’s accomplishments in transforming the state.

Overall, the back-and-forth between the current and former administrations revolves around the state of the Stella Obasanjo Hospital and the legacy of leadership in Edo State.
