In the Sedu 2 community in Ogijo, Ogun State, residents are requesting heightened security measures, particularly from the Ogun State Police Command, after the gruesome discovery of a dismembered body of an unidentified woman. The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, has verified the finding and assured that an investigation is ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators, suspected to be involved in a ritual killing.
This unsettling incident occurred shortly after reports of an Islamic cleric in Kwara State allegedly murdering his girlfriend and dismembering her body. The headless and handless body wrapped in a sack was found in a fenced farmland within the community, prompting residents to alert the Ogijo Police Station.
Preliminary investigations suggest the body was dumped at the site, leading to the area being cordoned off and the remains taken to a local hospital for preservation and forensic analysis. The Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough probe into the matter to bring the culprits to justice.
Residents, speaking anonymously out of fear, are urging for increased police patrols to prevent such tragedies in the future. The community is in shock at the brutal nature of the crime and is calling for better security measures to avoid any recurrence.
