The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Edo State, Samson Osagie, has refuted claims of financial wrongdoing.
Osagie, along with the Chairman of Edo State Local Government Service Commission, Damian Lawani, was suspended for alleged official and financial misconduct.
In a letter dated February 5, 2025, Governor Monday Okpehbolo ordered the suspension of the duo and initiated a committee to investigate the allegations and provide recommendations.
However, in a statement released on Thursday, Osagie denied the accusations and stated his willingness to defend himself and prove his innocence.
He declared, “I reject the claims made in the Government announcement of February 5, 2025, alleging financial misconduct on my part alongside the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission.
“I want to make it clear that I have not engaged in any financial transactions with anyone or committed any financial violations.
“Furthermore, I was not given the opportunity to address these allegations prior to my suspension.
“I am prepared to defend myself and vindicate my integrity to uphold my hard-earned reputation.”
