Three million barrels of oil production daily achievable, says NNPC

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has expressed confidence in the possibility of increasing crude oil production from 1.7 million barrels per day to 3 million barrels. The Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL revealed this information during a Stakeholders Engagement Session with journalists covering the National Assembly. The increase in production is attributed to the political will shown by the President, who has directed security agencies to address oil theft and pipeline vandalism. These efforts have already led to a rise in daily oil production. The Chief Corporate Communications Officer highlighted the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders, including government, private security agencies, oil companies, and host communities, to achieve the goal of 3 million barrels per day. By working together to combat oil theft and vandalism, an environment conducive to optimal oil production levels of 2.5 to 3 million barrels per day can be established. The session also included a presentation on the ongoing issue of crude oil theft and its economic impact, emphasizing the need for fairness and national interest in journalistic practices.
