Authorities in Edo State have apprehended three suspects believed to be involved in kidnapping incidents in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government area.
The individuals, identified as Asene Ogah (49), Ibhafidon Eric (29), and Ekpu Godfrey (44), were taken into custody with two locally made pump-action guns reportedly seized from them.
The Commander of Edo State Security Corps, Friday Ibadin, disclosed that the arrests were made following a distress call from a woman in the region. She was rescued by security personnel after hiding in the bush, leading to the apprehension of the suspects.
Ibadin mentioned that three out of the seven men who attempted to kidnap the woman were captured, and further investigations will be carried out by the police.
The suspects claimed to be collaborating with the police, but according to Ibadin, there has been no communication from the Uromi police, indicating otherwise.
