She showcased exceptional skill on the chessboard, defeating her opponents with strategic moves. Despite a setback against another strong player, she rebounded and ultimately clinched the title of 2024 Nigeria Women’s National Chess Champion. Additionally, she claimed the title of Speed chess champion by winning the Jonathan Odega National Women’s Blitz Chess Championship.
Throughout the year, she participated in a total of 69 games, securing an impressive record of 47 wins, 10 draws, and 12 losses.
As the National Women’s Chess Champion, she is set to receive a cash prize and the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Chess Championships in Botswana. Her aim is to make history by becoming the first Nigerian woman to win the Continental Grand championship and achieve the esteemed title of Nigerian Woman Grandmaster (WGM).
Following closely behind was the talented 11-year-old player, who made her mark in the Nigerian Chess scene, finishing in 2nd place with an impressive performance and earning a spot in the 2025 West Africa Chess Championships alongside other West African players.
