A statement titled “America’s Baton Change and the World” by the President of Centre For Change, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin, highlighted the potential for United States President Donald Trump to bring stability to troubled global regions by addressing terrorist groups and their sponsors.
Odumakin expressed optimism about Trump’s ability to enhance peace processes in the region, in contrast to the positive reception of former President Joe Biden’s diplomacy in the Middle East.
The human rights activist emphasized the potential for Trump’s administration to curb terrorist activities and negotiate effectively with Iran over its nuclear program to meet global expectations.
Regarding immigration policies, Odumakin mentioned that Trump’s stance on illegal immigration, particularly border security measures, is essential for preserving national security.
She also suggested re-implementing Trump’s pre-pandemic tax cuts to boost the American economy and benefit ordinary citizens, citing their positive impact before the global health crisis.
Trump’s return to the presidency in 2024 was acknowledged, with Odumakin praising former President Joe Biden for his efforts in promoting peace, such as the Israel-Hamas ceasefire reminiscent of historic peace agreements brokered by past US leaders.
