In a recent clash between the Umuobor-Akaeze and Ogwor communities in Ishiagu, Ebonyi State, two individuals were tragically killed. The longstanding communal conflict over the Elueke land has resulted in numerous casualties over the years. The governor has taken steps to address the situation by declaring the disputed land as a buffer zone and initiating a committee to resolve the crisis. Concerned individuals, including social media critic Mr. Nwoba Chika Nwoba, have urged the governor to intervene promptly to prevent further loss of lives. Despite efforts to bring peace, the conflict persists, emphasizing the need for unity among stakeholders to end the violence. The police have yet to receive an official report on the recent fatalities in the area.
