A legal action has been taken by a former Chief of Defence Staff against a renowned cleric for allegedly defaming him in a book. The retired general has demanded the cleric to withdraw the defamatory statements within seven days. The general expressed dismay over the allegations that tarnished his reputation and demanded an apology and a printed retraction in a second edition of the book. Legal proceedings have been initiated to seek appropriate remedies for the defamation.
