In recent developments, Ukraine has reported striking an oil depot in the southern Russian region of Krasnodar. This action comes as part of Ukraine’s increased aerial attacks on Russian energy and military facilities, in response to what it perceives as ongoing attacks by Moscow on its energy infrastructure and communities.
The Ukrainian General Staff confirmed the hit on the facility, noting that it was involved in supplying petrol and diesel for the Russian occupation army. They emphasized that strikes on strategic targets supporting Russia’s aggression against Ukraine will persist.
Local governor Veniamin Kondratyev mentioned that Ukrainian soldiers repelled a drone attack, resulting in debris falling into an oil reservoir in the Russian hamlet of Novominskaya. A fire ensued, prompting the dispatch of 55 firefighters to the scene. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, as the depot contained only minimal amounts of petroleum products.
Additionally, Ukraine stated that it had also targeted a Russian air defense system in the southern Zaporizhzhia region under Russian control. These actions mark a continuation of Ukraine’s efforts to defend itself against Russian aggression.
