A well-known actress from Nollywood, recognized for her role as Paulina in the popular series Wura, recently shared a unique encounter with a fan.
During an interview with a publication, the actress recounted a surprising incident when she attracted attention while shopping at a supermarket.
“One of the strangest experiences I’ve had was when I returned to Lagos after filming Wura. I entered a supermarket in my neighborhood, and immediately, people began staring at me, unsure if I was the person they thought I was. I was puzzled by their looks as I hadn’t realized the show’s immense popularity. Suddenly, someone exclaimed, ‘Aunty Paulina!’ That’s when everything changed—‘Oh, it’s her! We want free drinks!’ Then followed hugs and photo requests. It was unexpected but heartwarming,” she shared.
Reflecting on her journey as an actress, Albert disclosed that her love for acting ignited at a young age.
“I’ve always dreamt of being an actor for as long as I can recall. I actively participated in various drama groups, be it at school or church. I even remember being part of a play during my nursery school days that aired on multiple TV stations in Kaduna, my former place of residence,” she reminisced.
Initially planning to pursue Mass Communication at the University of Lagos with acting as a side hobby, Albert’s academic journey took a turn when she didn’t meet the required grades for her preferred course.
“I opted for English, but was offered Creative Arts, encompassing Theatre Arts. In retrospect, it seems like I landed precisely where I was destined to be. During my academic years, I delved into plays and short films. Following graduation, I persisted in auditions and skill enhancement, leading me to where I am today,” she explained.
