UNILORIN appoints Oloyede, two others as emeritus professors

The University of Ilorin’s Senate has recently approved the designation of three retired professors as emeritus professors. The individuals honored with this title are Prof. Is’haq Oloyede, Prof. Olu Obafemi, and Prof. Musbau Akanji. The decision to appoint them as emeritus professors was made during the university’s 304th meeting.

Prof. Oloyede, a former Vice-Chancellor of the university and the current Registrar and Chief Executive of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, retired in October 2024. Prof. Obafemi, known for his expertise in English and Dramatic Literature, retired in 2020 from the University of Ilorin. Prof. Akanji, a distinguished scholar of Biochemistry and former Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, as well as Federal University of Technology, Minna, retired in 2021.
