Unity, patriotism key to Nigeria’s progress – Marwa

The Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brigadier General Buba Marwa (retd.) stressed the significance of unity and patriotism in driving Nigeria towards greatness. Marwa delivered this message during his keynote address at the 40th anniversary and reunion of the Nigeria Military School 1984 set and 32nd Passing Out Platoon Association in Abuja. The event’s theme focused on leveraging Nigeria’s diversity for inclusive nation-building as a pathway to leadership, stability, and prosperity.

Marwa commended the 1984 set for their accomplishments, attributing their success to the quality training they received at the NMS. He highlighted the NMS as a reflection of Nigeria, instilling values of brotherhood, unity, and love for the country in its students.

Expressing concern over the country’s challenges, Marwa urged Nigerians to prioritize a united Nigeria amidst ethnic and religious divisions. He emphasized the strength in diversity and the collective contributions that make Nigeria great.

Encouraging NMS alumni to embody the institution’s values of discipline, knowledge, and patriotism, Marwa underscored the importance of leadership and vision in overcoming challenges and attaining greatness. He called for continuous service to the nation and promoting peace, unity, and stability within communities.

President of NMS 84/32 POP, Dr. Augustine Benni, praised Marwa for attending the anniversary celebration, acknowledging his leadership qualities as a model of discipline and patriotism. Benni highlighted the theme of the event as a reflection of the association’s commitment to finding solutions to national challenges.
