US VP Vance to attend Paris AI summit next week

The Vice President of the United States is scheduled to participate in an upcoming artificial intelligence summit in Paris, as confirmed by a French diplomatic source. The event, set to take place on February 10-11, aims to address the challenges faced by Europe in the realm of AI, particularly in light of competition from the US and China.

High-profile figures from the tech industry, such as Sam Altman from OpenAI, Sundar Pichai from Google, and Demis Hassabis from DeepMind, are expected to be in attendance. Also on the guest list is Dario Amodei from Anthropic.

Although it remains uncertain whether Elon Musk, the founder of xAI, will be present, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will co-host the summit. Notable figures like Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang, EU chief Ursula von der Leyen, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz are also anticipated to attend.

The prestigious Grand Palais, originally constructed for the 1900 Universal Exhibition, will serve as the venue for this event.
