VIDEO: Kaduna residents celebrate as TCN restores power after nine-day blackout

Excitement filled the streets of Kaduna as residents celebrated the restoration of electricity to their town.

A video capturing the moment showed the residents chanting “Nepa, Nepa tadawo” in Hausa, expressing their joy over the return of power.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) recently announced the partial restoration of electricity to seven Northern states after a significant outage caused by the vandalization of the Shiroro-Kaduna transmission line.

This disruption left several areas, including Lafia, Makurdi, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, and Gombe, without power for nine days.

TCN reported that power was fully restored to the affected regions by 4:56 PM on Wednesday, following the repair of the 330kV Ugwuaji-Apir transmission line 1.
