An official video has been released showing the moment Delta Connection Flight 4819 crashed at Toronto Pearson Airport.
During the landing on Monday, a Delta Air Lines regional jet flipped upside down due to strong winds after a snowstorm, resulting in injuries to 18 out of the 80 people on board.
Three individuals, including a child, were in critical condition among the injured, as stated by a Canadian air ambulance official. Fifteen others were also promptly taken to hospitals post the crash.
Delta mentioned that some of the injured passengers have been discharged late Monday.
The airline confirmed that the incident involved a CRJ900 aircraft operated by its Endeavor Air subsidiary. The 16-year-old jet, manufactured by Canada’s Bombardier and equipped with GE Aerospace engines, had 76 passengers and four crew members on board. Footage after the crash showed significant damage, including at least one detached wing.
Canadian authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the crash, which is currently unknown.
