VIDEO: Olu of Warri rides scooter to inspect road in Delta

The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has once again captured public attention by riding an electric scooter while inspecting a newly completed road in Delta State.

The video, which is now circulating on social media, was posted on his Instagram page on Friday.

The caption read, “His Majesty inspects the Trans-Warri–Ode-Itsekiri Road, a transformative infrastructure project delivered by the administration of His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.”

The monarch was seen navigating the Trans-Warri–Ode-Itsekiri Road on two wheels.

Accompanied by a formal convoy of security and officials driving behind him, the Olu moved across the road.

The project, initially awarded in 2006 under the administration of James Ibori, reportedly faced significant delays across three successive administrations.

Ode-Itsekiri, the ancestral capital of the Warri kingdom, had reportedly been accessible only by water, making this infrastructural milestone significant for enhancing connectivity between Ode-Itsekiri and surrounding communities.

According to the state government, the 20.95 km road, which features 15 bridges of varying spans, also provides an access route that improves mobility and supports ongoing development across the riverine axis.

This is not the first time the Olu of Warri has chosen a scooter over a traditional motorcade for public appearances.

In March 2025, Online reported that the Olu of Warri rode a scooter through his ancestral home, Ode-Itsekiri, while being cheered on by residents.
