We are sorry, South African man begs Nigerians after Bolt prank

A man from South Africa, known as Grand Dilan, has reached out on social media to request that Nigerians discontinue the Bolt ride prank.

In a widely circulated video, he expressed concern that the prank has escalated beyond control and is negatively impacting businesses.

The prank initially involved South Africans ordering Bolt rides in Lagos, Nigeria, only to cancel upon the driver’s arrival. In retaliation, some Nigerians ordered rides in Johannesburg and Cape Town from Lagos, later canceling them.

In his plea, the South African man urged Nigerians to stop the prank, emphasizing the severe consequences it has brought to businesses in South Africa.

He emotionally stated, “Nigerians, I implore you to cease this action. The impact has been devastating, causing closures of numerous businesses in South Africa. This situation is spiraling out of control and affecting many livelihoods.”
