The Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has expressed deep sadness and shock regarding the tragic killing of Salome Adaidu by her estranged partner in the Karu Area of Nasarawa State. In a statement released by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Minister, Jonathan Eze, the minister strongly condemned the appalling act and called for justice for Salome and her family. Salome, a 24-year-old serving member of the National Youth Service Corps at Nicon Insurance in Abuja, met a tragic end before her time. The minister emphasized the need for communities and parents to prioritize the safety and protection of women, girls, and children, urging everyone to speak up against such violence. The Ministry urged authorities to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding Salome’s death and ensure the perpetrator faces the full force of the law. Solidarity was extended to Salome’s family and loved ones, with a commitment to seek justice. The Ministry also called on all Nigerians to unite against violence and abuse towards women and girls, advocating for a society where they can live without fear. Condolences were expressed to the families and loved ones of the victims, highlighting the importance of preserving lives, especially of young girls with promising futures.
