Zamfara APC faults Lawal’s budget, threatens court action

The Zamfara State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress expressed disapproval of the 2025 budget presented by Governor Dauda Lawal, stating that it went against the country’s constitutional provisions. According to a party spokesperson, Yusuf Idris, the budget presentation was criticized for being conducted in secrecy without public or media access. Idris highlighted concerns about the lack of transparency in the budget process, including the suspension of some legislative members perceived as opposition. The APC called for the budget to be reversed and for proper procedures to be followed, threatening legal action if necessary. In response, the Governor’s Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Mustafa Jafaru Kaura, defended the budget presentation, stating that it was done publicly and in accordance with the law. Kaura dismissed the APC’s criticisms as baseless and suggested that they were merely seeking attention.
