The Kano Zonal Command of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons recently rescued 10 victims of human trafficking. The victims, aged between 22 and 42, including six females and four males, were on their way to Libya for labor exploitation before being rescued on December 7 in Kano.
The zonal commander, Mr Abdullahi Babale, expressed gratitude to the Kano State Commissioner of Police for the support in rescuing the victims. He highlighted the importance of counseling and rehabilitating the victims before reuniting them with their families.
It is crucial for parents to safeguard their children from exploitation and prevent them from falling into the trap of modern-day slavery under false promises of better opportunities. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious cases of human trafficking for immediate intervention.
