Ondo poll: We have 295,603 uncollected PVCs – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission revealed that there are 295,603 permanent voter cards yet to be collected in a specific state. Additionally, the commission announced plans to engage 17,705 ad hoc staff and 11,799 security personnel for an upcoming election scheduled for November 16.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state made these announcements during a press briefing at the commission’s headquarters in Akure, the state capital. Emphasizing the importance of a free, fair, and credible election, the REC assured that the commission is fully prepared for the process.
A new phase of PVC distribution is set to commence on Thursday, October 17, 2024. Voters are encouraged to collect their PVCs from designated centers across the state to fulfill their civic responsibilities.
The REC highlighted that during the Continuous Voters Registration exercise, there was a significant increase in registered voters in the state, with 58,708 new voters registered. Additionally, 3,132 voters transferred their registration into and within Ondo State, while 123 voters transferred within and out of the state.
Urging the people of Ondo State to participate actively in the election and contribute to the democratic process, the REC emphasized the importance of each vote counting on election day.
