The FCT Minister highlighted the need for collaborations and financial backing in Abuja, pointing out the various sectors like agriculture, healthcare, tourism, construction, mining, and renewable energy that offer investment opportunities.
During the Abuja Business and Investment Summit themed “Optimising Investments through Partnership,” former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and Governor of Anambra State emphasized the importance of investing in locally-made products to boost the economy across all sectors.
Both figures made these statements at the event held at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja. The FCT Minister revealed plans to kickstart nine major projects to increase investment prospects in the area.
He stressed Abuja’s potential, mentioning the government’s efforts to improve the investment climate through infrastructure development and utility provisions.
“Abuja offers vast investment prospects beyond being Nigeria’s political capital. Our strategic location and population present opportunities in real estate, technology, agriculture, healthcare, tourism, construction, mining, and renewable energy.
“The FCT Administration has focused on creating a conducive environment for both local and foreign investors. By prioritizing road networks, transportation, and utilities, we ensure seamless connectivity. The launch of nine major projects next week will further enhance investment opportunities in the region.
“The FCT is ready for business. We have streamlined processes for easier setup and operation. I encourage exploration of the diverse investment potentials here, be it in real estate, technology, or agribusiness,” he stated.
In his speech, Soludo advocated for supporting Nigerian products as a way to drive investments across all sectors. He shared his personal choices of using locally-made products to demonstrate his belief in the country’s potential.
He also highlighted education as a crucial long-term investment, emphasizing the need to empower and educate the population for sustainable growth.
The summit’s aim, as stated by the Group Managing Director of Abuja Investment Company Limited in her welcome address, is to showcase investment opportunities in the FCT and facilitate networking among local and international investors.
