The All Progressives Congress in Delta State has highlighted the importance of empowering women to take on leadership roles in various sectors. During the Delta State APC Women Empowerment Summit 2024, the National Women Leader of the party, Dr. Mary Idele, emphasized the significance of women’s leadership potential.
Dr. Idele expressed that the summit wasn’t just an event but a call to action, underscoring the vast capabilities present in every woman. The theme “Empowered to Serve” resonated throughout the summit, emphasizing that empowerment goes beyond personal success to uplift others and shape the future for generations to come.
Stella Okotete, the Executive Director of Business Development at NEXIM, was praised as a dedicated leader by Dr. Idele. The summit, themed ‘Empowered to Serve,’ drew over 2,000 women from various local government areas in Delta State. The event also saw the announcement of initiatives like the Delta State Progressives Cooperative and Agricultural Farmers Schemes to economically empower APC women in the state.
The summit received commendations from party leaders, acknowledging Okotete’s unifying role within the party. Several State House of Assembly members praised her leadership and welfare programs. The event also featured the empowerment of loyal women within the party, with financial rewards given to several individuals as a token of appreciation for their dedication.
Overall, the summit aimed to inspire and empower women to play more active roles in leadership positions and contribute significantly to the party’s growth and success in the future.
