Kano Hisbah arrests Jigawa commissioner for adultery

The Kano State Hisbah Board has verified the detention of the Jigawa State Commissioner of Special Duties, Auwal Danladi Sankara, who was found with a married woman in an unfinished building. The Director General of the board, Dr. Abba Sufi, confirmed the arrest of Sankara and the married woman following a series of complaints received. The arrest was a result of intelligent tracking after reports of his inappropriate behavior with the married woman surfaced. The woman’s husband’s younger brother had reported the alleged illicit acts.

Dr. Sufi mentioned that they apprehended Auwal Danladi Sankara with the married woman in the building, which belonged to him. The tracking was conducted discreetly based on the reports they had received. The arrest was prompted by a complaint lodged by Nasiru Bulama, the woman’s husband, accusing the commissioner of engaging in an extramarital affair with his wife, Tasleem Baba Nabegu, who is a mother of two.

The official elaborated that Sankara will face multiple charges, including running illegal drug facilities under the names Picklock, 360, and others. Sufi also mentioned that they are set to prosecute Auwalu Sankara in court on Monday for his alleged offenses involving illicit drug operations and other illegal activities conducted under the guise of hotel businesses.
