Galatasaray’s efforts to secure Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal from Napoli are progressing as they have secured a sponsor to cover 70% of the transfer fee.
Reports from Turkish outlet Milliyet reveal that Galatasaray, contemplating a reduction in the €75m fee to €70m due to previous payments, have engaged with two major companies in Turkey. One of these companies has agreed to cover 30% of the transfer fee.
Napoli’s request for €25m upfront and the remainder in two installments has prompted Galatasaray to seek additional resources.
With Fenerbahce also showing interest in Osimhen, Galatasaray is moving swiftly to secure the player’s signature, leveraging their position after Osimhen expressed contentment with the club. Negotiations are ongoing to persuade Napoli to agree to the transfer.
Fenerbahçe has explored the possibility of signing Osimhen through agent Mirsad Türkcan, who is in talks to cover the player’s transfer fee with the support of a sponsor. Despite not meeting with the player directly, Fenerbahçe aims to secure Osimhen’s transfer due to their positive history with Napoli during previous dealings.
The acquisition of Osimhen represents a significant investment, with the transfer fee estimated at €75m and the player’s annual earnings, including image rights, at €12m, totaling €36m over three seasons.
Galatasaray’s President, Dursun Özbek, along with Kavukcu and Buruk, will lead the negotiations for Osimhen’s transfer. A meeting with George Gardi in Italy is planned to discuss the next steps in the transfer process.
Osimhen has been a standout performer for Galatasaray, recording eight goals and four assists in nine matches across various competitions since joining the club in September.
