The government of Taraba State has announced the temporary closure of the Danbaba Suntai Airport in Jalingo for upgrade works. The closure, approved by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, will be in effect until December 20, 2024. Construction projects started in January 2024 and include building drainage systems, a perimeter fence, upgrading the Instrument Landing System, extending the runway, and acquiring new fire tenders. These enhancements demonstrate the state government’s dedication to improving transportation infrastructure, benefiting both local commuters and connections to neighboring states. The government assures the public that measures are in place to complete the projects on schedule. Although the closure may cause inconvenience, commuters are urged to be patient as the improved airport will provide a safer and more efficient travel experience.
