Okpebholo sets up panel to probe Obaseki’s administration

The Governor of Edo State has given the green light for the establishment of a 14-member State Assets Verification Committee to scrutinize the actions of the former Governor. This committee, led by Dr. Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe, will have Anslem Ojezua as deputy chairman and Frank Edebor as the secretary. The committee includes members such as Kassim Afegbua, Patrick Ikhariale, Taiwo Akerele, and others. The aim of this committee, as stated by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, is to promote development, accountability, and transparency in governance. The committee will be inaugurated at the Government House in Benin City. Recent reports suggest that the government may launch a probe into the previous administration based on assessments from various ministries, prioritizing the interests of the people.
