APGA hails S’Court verdict affirming Ezeokenwa national chair

The recent decision by the Supreme Court to uphold Sly Ezeokenwa as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance has been praised as a victory for justice and the rule of law.

In a press release, the National Publicity Secretary of APGA, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, commended the judiciary for resolving the party’s leadership conflict, calling it a significant milestone.

Opara stated, “This important ruling demonstrates the judiciary’s dedication to upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice prevails.”

The Supreme Court’s decision clarified that the 2021 judgment did not recognize Edozie Njoku as the National Chairman of APGA, thereby removing any uncertainty regarding the party’s leadership.

Additionally, the court labeled the lawsuit brought by Njoku’s representatives as an abuse of legal procedures and reaffirmed Chief Victor Oye as the rightful National Chairman before Sly Ezeokenwa took office.

Opara highlighted that the Supreme Court reprimanded Edozie Njoku for misrepresenting its judgment and imposed a penalty of N20 million in each of the three appeals, totaling N60 million.

APGA expressed appreciation to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, for leading a decision that restored confidence in the judiciary.

The party also commended its National Leader, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, for his unwavering support and guidance, along with the efforts of the Board of Trustees and National Working Committee in navigating the party through challenging times.

APGA stressed that the ruling not only clarified its leadership but also emphasized that “justice may be delayed but not denied.”
