President Bola Tinubu has recently made significant appointments for key positions in various establishments in the country. The appointments include Chief Executive Officers for the National Universities Commission, the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council, the Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative, and the New Partnership for Africa Development.
The announcement was made by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, through a statement released on Friday. Among the appointments, Prof. Abdullahi Ribadu has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the NUC. Prof. Ribadu, a distinguished expert in veterinary reproduction, has previously served as vice chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Yola, and the Sule Lamido University, Jigawa State.
Furthermore, Prof. Salisu Shehu has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the NERDC. Prof. Shehu is recognized for his expertise in educational and human psychology and has played crucial roles in academia at institutions like Bayero University, Kano, and Al-Istiqamah University, Kano.
Additionally, Jabiru Abdullahi Tsauri has been appointed as the National Coordinator of NEPAD. Tsauri, with a Master’s in International Affairs and Diplomacy, brings a wealth of experience in legislative affairs, global affairs, and democratic governance to the role.
Lastly, Yazid Danfulani has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the SMDF/PAGMI. Danfulani, with qualifications in Business Administration and Management, has a background in Banking, Computing, and Business Administration, with previous roles at the Central Bank of Nigeria and as a Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Zamfara State.
The appointments are aimed at bringing in individuals with diverse experiences and proven track records to enhance the performance and outcomes of these organizations to meet the expectations of Nigerians.
