Kylian Mbappe showcased his talent by scoring a sensational goal and assisting another as Real Madrid dominated Sevilla with a 4-2 victory. The win propelled Madrid to second place in La Liga, moving ahead of a struggling Barcelona. Following Atletico Madrid’s win against Barca, Madrid capitalized on the opportunity to secure a comfortable victory at home, trailing the league leaders by just one point.
Madrid’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, had expressed confidence in Mbappe’s adjustment to the team since his transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer. The French forward validated this belief with a stellar performance, scoring his 14th goal of the season across all competitions. Fede Valverde, Rodrygo Goes, and Brahim Diaz also found the back of the net for Madrid, while Isaac Romero and Dodi Lukebakio scored for Sevilla.
Mbappe opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a powerful strike, followed by a remarkable long-range goal from Valverde. Madrid continued their dominance with goals from Rodrygo and Diaz, showcasing their attacking prowess. Despite Sevilla’s efforts, Madrid maintained control, with Mbappe providing a brilliant assist to Diaz for Madrid’s fourth goal.
As the match progressed, veteran defender Jesus Navas bid farewell to Sevilla in his final game for the club. The 39-year-old, who made 705 appearances for Sevilla, received a warm tribute from both sets of players before Madrid sealed the victory. Sevilla managed to pull one back through Lukebakio, but Madrid’s strong performance reflected their success as Spanish and European champions in the past year.
