The Borno State Police Command recently apprehended an individual named Muhammad Idrissa, who is a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force. He was taken into custody for allegedly providing cooking supplies to Boko Haram insurgents within the state. The arrest was made based on intelligence reports received by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Nahum Daso.
According to Daso, Idrissa will be facing prosecution in court for his actions. In a conversation with authorities, Idrissa confessed to his involvement, stating that he had supplied cooking items like Maggi, cooking oil, salt, and pepper to the group on five occasions. He mentioned that he was assisting his younger brother, who is a member of the terrorist organization, by providing these supplies.
Idrissa clarified his ties to the Civilian Joint Task Force and explained that he would give the items to his brother, who would then deliver them to the Boko Haram camp where he resided with other members. He emphasized that his motive was solely to help his brother, believing that they lacked access to these necessities where they were located.
When asked about the circumstances of his arrest, Idrissa mentioned that the police contacted him to come to the station, where he was subsequently arrested.
