A former Senior Special Assistant to the President on Citizenship and Leadership, Nasiru Bala Ja’oji, is set to contest the House of Representatives seat for the Tarauni Federal Constituency.
This is contained in a statement by Ja’oji Media Aide, Abba Anwar, a copy of which was made available to Arewa Punch on Friday
According to the statement, Ja’oji picked the House of Reps ticket following a “transparent consensus” supervised by the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
“As a result of diligent and transparent consensus supervised by the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, among other aspirants for the House of Representatives seat in Tarauni federal constituency, the former Senior Special Assistant to the President on Citizenship and Leadership, Nasir Bala Aminu (Ja’o’ji), picked the ticket,” the statement said.
He pointed out that with this development, the former Tinubu’s Aide will contest the House of Reps seat in 2027, under the platform of All Progressives Congress, as he got the endorsement of 16 out of 19 stakeholders from the constituency.
“Ja’oji will contest the House of Reps seat under the platform of All Progressives Congress, as he got the endorsement of 16 out of 19 stakeholders from the constituency,” the statement stressed.
Arewa reports that Governor Yusuf commended other aspirants for exhibiting patriotism and urged them to support the party to ensure its success at all levels in the forthcoming general elections.
On his part, Ja’oji thanked all the stakeholders and other party members for their support, urging them to support his candidature for the development of Tarauni and Kano in general.
While thanking President Bola Tinubu for supporting youth inclusion in politics and governance,
“I assure you of my total commitment and loyalty to your cause. I will also make sure that I always consult those who were there before us in our legislative engagement,” he vowed.
