The Delta State Police Command recently apprehended a young couple for staging a false kidnapping to extort money from the girl’s family. The couple, referred to as Princess and Prince, devised a plan where Princess visited her boyfriend’s residence and convinced him to contact her parents, falsely claiming she was abducted. Subsequently, Prince reached out to the family, demanding a ransom for her release.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed this incident in a statement. The mother of the girl reported the supposed kidnapping to the police, leading to the unraveling of the deceitful scheme. Such acts of deception by young individuals towards their parents are indeed shocking.
