I’ve received over 200 death threats following comments on Peter Obi — Morka

The spokesperson for the APC revealed that he and his family have been threatened following his comments about the Labour Party presidential candidate. The threats were a result of the candidate’s claim that the spokesperson’s remarks during a TV interview were a threat to his life.

In a subsequent interview, the APC representative mentioned receiving over 400 threats, including about 200 explicit death threats, some with graphic descriptions.

The spokesperson stated, “The accusations made by Peter Obi have led to serious repercussions. I have documented 400 threats, including explicit death threats, which will be provided to the authorities.

“These messages contain detailed plans to harm me, including threats to shoot me, behead me, and other violent acts. Some threats even extend to my family members. They are explicit and graphic threats, not mere hints.”

He vehemently denied making any statements that could be seen as threatening the life of Peter Obi and dismissed the allegations as unfounded.

“The claims against me are baseless. I did not threaten Peter Obi in any way. Those issuing threats are acting independently, and I trust law enforcement will act swiftly to bring them to justice,” he added.

The spokesperson’s initial comments during the earlier interview caused a stir when he criticized Obi for his remarks about President Bola Tinubu’s administration, suggesting that the former governor deserved any consequences.

Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, called for an apology from the APC to Obi and Nigerians for what he deemed as inflammatory language.

Additionally, the Labour Party gave a seven-day ultimatum to Tinubu to reprimand the spokesperson for his statements.

In a statement released by Marcel Ngogbehei, the Director-General of the Labour Party Directorate of Mobilisation and Integration, he condemned what he referred to as a targeted smear campaign against Obi.
