A man identified as Yusuf Abubakar, who works as a plastic collector, reportedly had a tragic encounter in Isara Remo, Ogun State, where he lost his left wrist due to an attack by alleged hoodlums. The incident took place while Abubakar and his colleagues were collecting used plastics in the Sapaade area of the community. They were pursued by a group of about seven armed suspects, causing them to flee. Sadly, Abubakar fell during the escape, leading to a brutal assault where his left wrist was severed.
Confirming the incident, the police spokesperson mentioned that Abubakar was taken to a nearby forest, where the attackers tied him up and mutilated his wrist before leaving him. Abubakar sought medical attention after the ordeal and reported the incident to the authorities. The police investigated the scene but found no evidence of the attackers. Residents were advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the security forces.
Prior reports indicated that the Saapade area had been plagued by violence, including cult killings and robberies, causing fear and loss in the community.
