Police rescue hostages, kill three kidnappers

The Nigeria Police Force has recently announced a revised strategy to combat kidnapping nationwide, aiming to enhance internal security. The Force has successfully conducted rescue operations that eliminated kidnappers, retrieved weapons, and secured the safe release of hostages. In a statement titled “Kidnapping: Police Re-Strategise to Curb Kidnapping, 3 Kidnappers Neutralised, Victims Rescued in Dangerous Operations,” the Force emphasized its dedication to safeguarding all citizens.

One notable success occurred in Benue State, where authorities responded to a kidnapping incident, resulting in the rescue of a victim and the apprehension of a suspect. A subsequent operation led to the neutralization of three kidnappers, recovery of arms, and the safe rescue of the victim, who received necessary medical care.

In separate operations in Nasarawa and Bayelsa States, police successfully rescued hostages and intercepted a suspect transporting a cache of weapons. The Inspector-General of Police commended the bravery and coordination of the officers involved in these operations, emphasizing the importance of citizen cooperation in maintaining public safety.

The Inspector-General urged continued vigilance and collaboration between law enforcement and the public to ensure a secure environment for all Nigerians.
