The Minister of State for Labour and Employment recently shared that the new minimum wage will undergo a review in less than two years. This announcement was made during a meeting with labor leaders in Abia State. The Minister emphasized the commitment of the President to ensuring that the minimum wage is reviewed every three years to benefit Nigerian workers. The Minister assured that the government is dedicated to fulfilling its promises to enhance the welfare of workers. She stated that the review process will not be prolonged, as it used to be every five years but will now occur within three years. This decision has been confirmed and documented. The Minister also met with labor leaders to express her wishes for their well-being and highlighted the importance of labor in promoting stability and peace, not only in workplaces but also in the nation. The Abia State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress praised the Minister for her efforts and pledged collaboration. Additionally, the Minister engaged with traditional rulers in Abia State to discuss various government policies.
