Yoruba culture comes alive at Lisabi 2 premiere

A recent film premiere titled ‘Lisabi: A Legend is Born’ by Lateef Adedimeji and Mo Bimpe attracted a large number of celebrities and guests on January 9, 2025. The event took place at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History in Onikan, Lagos, showcasing the richness of Yoruba culture through its venue and artistic presentations.

The atmosphere before the movie screening was filled with excitement as guests walked the red carpet.

When discussing what viewers could anticipate from the movie, a sequel to ‘Lisabi: An Uprising’ released in 2024, Adedimeji mentioned, “Audiences should expect answers to the questions they had after watching the first part. All these questions will be addressed in the second installment of the film.”

Reflecting on the challenges encountered during the filming of the sequel, Adedimeji shared, “It was a challenge bringing everyone together for the shoot within the allocated days. It was demanding work, especially with the fight sequences. However, I am pleased with the outcome, and viewers will appreciate it.”

Notable personalities present at the premiere included Iyabo Ojo, Odunlade Adekola, Femi Adebayo, Muyiwa Ademola, Yinka Quadri, Jide Awobona, Saga, Phyna, Liquorose, ID Cabasa, Mr Macaroni, and Boma Akpore, among others.
