Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, recently reiterated the support of the Peoples Democratic Party for Sunday Ude-Okoye, emphasizing that the party will emerge stronger from its current challenges. Lawal highlighted the importance of learning from past mistakes and expressed confidence in the party’s ability to lead Nigeria effectively, as demonstrated during a recent meeting of governors in Delta State.
Speaking in Ibadan during a visit to Governor ‘Seyi Makinde to offer condolences on the passing of his brother, Lawal emphasized the resilience of the PDP. He mentioned that the ongoing crisis within the party is a common occurrence in politics and is part of the learning process that will ultimately strengthen the party.
Lawal, along with members of his cabinet, underscored the significance of his visit to Makinde, stating that it is essential to show support during difficult times. Makinde also received visits from other notable figures, including the President of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, who extended condolences and expressed solidarity with the governor.
Additionally, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, offered words of encouragement to Makinde, acknowledging the challenges of losing a family member. Gusau highlighted the importance of supporting Makinde during this period and mentioned collaborations with the Federal Ministry of Education to enhance grassroots development in football.
