The Bauchi State Police command has reported the apprehension of six individuals involved in electric installation vandalism and the recovery of stolen items. According to the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, the arrests were made after detectives intercepted the suspects and recovered stolen property. The suspects were caught stealing vehicle tires and bags of cement, as well as vandalizing an electric conductor belonging to Jos Electricity Power Company. The recovered items included electric aluminum conductors, a hacksaw, and a motorcycle. The suspects confessed to their crimes during the investigation. The investigation is ongoing, and the suspects will face prosecution in court.
In a separate incident, another individual was arrested for allegedly assaulting a five-year-old girl, while a ten-year-old girl went missing and was later found in the company of a suspect who had threatened her. The Commissioner of Police, Auwal Muhammad, has directed that these cases be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and for the suspects to be charged and prosecuted accordingly.
