In recent news, a former member of the House of Representatives, Nicholas Ossai, has made a significant move by defecting from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party to join the All Progressives Congress. Ossai cited his desire to drive meaningful development in his constituency as the primary reason for his switch, noting that the ruling party provides the ideal platform to realize this vision.
Having previously served in the Delta State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives, Ossai expressed admiration for the APC’s leadership and singled out President Bola Tinubu as his role model. He confidently declared that his move to the APC would signal the end of the PDP’s dominance in his state.
During a press briefing in Abuja, Ossai emphasized his commitment to upholding the APC’s rules and constitution. He pledged to promote Asiwaju Renewed Hope Agenda in Delta State and sought the support and blessings of party members.
The National Secretary of the APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru, warmly welcomed Ossai into the party, lauding his decision to join as a seasoned politician. Basiru highlighted the administration’s achievements under President Tinubu and expressed confidence in the party’s ability to secure victory in future elections.
Basiru also pointed out the internal challenges faced by the PDP, suggesting that the APC’s unity and progressive agenda set it apart as a reliable choice for Nigerians. He commended Ossai for abandoning the “dilapidated structure” of the opposition party and aligning with the APC’s vision for national development.
