The Osun State chapter of a political party has refuted allegations of a financial scandal involving a former governor. The current governor accused his predecessor of financial impropriety, but the party’s media director dismissed the claims as politically motivated. The party challenged the accuser to provide evidence to support the allegations.
In response, the state government stood firm, emphasizing that the accusations were the result of a detailed investigation into financial dealings during the previous administration. The government asserted that due process violations and financial mismanagement were uncovered, leading to recommendations for prosecution.
Among the allegations were mismanagement of funds allocated for healthcare center renovations and alleged money laundering through a local government association. The government vowed to uphold transparency and pursue justice, contrasting its approach with what it described as a lack of accountability from the previous administration.
Both sides expressed confidence in the investigative process and readiness to address any findings.
